How we work:

One World Health Project is comprised of a group of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine students with the invaluable leadership of an established Acupuncturist and Instructor of Oriental Medicine. Inspired by the comprehensive benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and the lack of opportunities in outreach for alternative medicine practitioners, One World Health Project is providing an innovative framework to expand education in the tools of preventative medicine.

One World Health Project is incorporated in the state of California as a non-profit corporation, with pending application for 501c3 status. We operate as community intermediaries: providing a voice for alternative health care practitioners at local fairs, festivals, and fundraisers, in return for tax- exempt donations to support our outreach projects both locally and internationally.

Exciting Plans for 2009 and 2010:

-OWHP is currently developing a curriculum to teach elementary school children about such aspects of wellness as eating organic and seasonal foods, and recognition of the effects of emotions on physical wellness. This program is infused with fun interactive activities that empower kids to take ownership of their bodies and minds.

-OWHP will have an active presence at community events such as the Venice Ecofest, the Emperor’s College Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day celebration, and the OWHP Kite Flying and Dedication to facilitate healthful activities for individuals and families alike.

-OWHP will join the Pan African Acupuncture Project (www.panafricanacupuncture.org) to serve as Trainers, teaching local healthcare workers how to use simple acupuncture protocols to address the symptoms of HIV/AIDS, malaria, TB and other chronic conditions. We will become certified trainers though PanAfrian’s Training program.
